The Creativity Award for Municipal Work is awarded to employees who present creative proposals intended to improve the quality of municipal work either through raising the quality of services provided, or helping to reduce cost and time of processes, or increasing customer satisfaction, or improving communication, or enhancing occupational safety and health or developing efficient and automated processes and procedures.
The aim of this award is to create a stimulating work environment for employees thereby encouraging them to raise the quality of services provided, reduce the cost and time taken to complete work, increase customer satisfaction, improve the effectiveness of communication, enhance occupational health and safety, and develop efficient work mechanisms and procedures.
The first and only time the creativity award was granted was in the year 2021. Ms. Tamader Abdulkarim Abdulaal of the Municipal One Stop Shop was awarded first place for her proposal of enhancing the end user experience in the Benayat permit issuance system and improving the Municipal One Stop Shop user platform. Second place was awarded to Ms. Amal Yousif Abu Al Fateh of the Muharraq Municipality for her proposal to create a platform for municipal investment properties titled “Fursatek”.
Work has also begun on the ‘Liqaa’ platform, an interactive electronic platform through which a citizen or resident can book an appointment to meet virtually with any government entity, ensuring the continuity and sustainability of government operations. In addition, the platform aims to improve the performance, the efficiency, the speed, and the accuracy of government services. The purpose of the platform is to enable service centers to digitally transform and provide services electronically. This will allow clients and visitors remote access to services thereby reducing expenses and overall cycle time of services and communication.
