Undersecretary of Municipal Affairs Announces Launch of the Mobile Agricultural Nursery During the Holy Month of Ramadan

HE Eng. Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary of Municipal Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, announced the launch of the "Mobile Nursery" initiative. This initiative comes within a framework of efforts to increase green areas and encourage individuals to participate in environmental development as per the National Afforestation Plan.

The Undersecretary explained that the "Mobile Nursery" initiative is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and it comes under the slogan "Together We Plant", in partnership with the Capital Secretariat Council and the three Municipal Councils. HE pointed out that through this initiative, the “Mobile Nursery” will visit several areas throughout the governorates of Bahrain during the holy month of Ramadan to distribute seedlings to citizens and residents.

 HE Sheikh Mohammed explained that the “Mobile Nursery” serves also as an educational tool as it travels between areas, parks, and coasts to spread environmental and afforestation awareness among citizens and residents motivating them to participate in afforestation efforts that contribute to the sustainable development of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The distribution of seedlings will be free for citizens and residents through this dedicated bus, which will stop every day during the blessed month of Ramadan in a designated area determined in coordination with the Municipal Councils with the aim to achieve the national goals related to afforestation.
