"Municipalities" Organizes Workshop on Shaping Agriculture in Bahrain Through Artificial Intelligence
The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, in cooperation with the University of Bahrain for Technology, organized a workshop titled “Shaping Agriculture in Bahrain through Artificial Intelligence”, which was held at the agricultural incubators center in Hoorat Aali. The workshop was attended by several Ministry employees and those working in the agricultural sector.
The goal of the workshop was to raise awareness of the significance of artificial intelligence in influencing agricultural production in the future and lowering resource consumption while increasing crop yields.
In this context, it was pointed out that hosting these kinds of workshops is an excellent opportunity to share knowledge and insights, broaden the general understanding of how individuals can benefit from contemporary AI resources and technologies in an ethical and sustainable manner, explore available funding programs to support AI project initiatives for government institutions in general, and agricultural institutions in particular, and become familiar with the most important current and upcoming legislation related to AI.
The workshop placed a strong emphasis on the necessity of accelerating the implementation of AI technologies in order to meet objectives for agricultural diversification, boost productivity, and generate new employment prospects.
The workshop addressed the definition of artificial intelligence, its benefits, the advantages of possessing artificial intelligence abilities, the implications of its application in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the utilization of artificial intelligence to support various sectors.
