The Animal Health Directorate carries out periodic initiatives to vaccinate animals against epidemic diseases, as well as spraying for disease vectors and external parasites affecting farm animals. These services are offered entirely free of charge to livestock and farm animal owners in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as part of the directorate's strategic plan and its efforts to control and prevent animal epidemic diseases. Livestock and farm animal owners can register for the service by contacting the concerned personnel through the communication channels listed in this guide in order to be included in the directorate's vaccination schedule.

Service Procedures and Steps
Submit the request by contacting the Clinics and Disease Control Section.
2. Scheduling an Appointment
An appointment for vaccination is scheduled based on the section's plan.
3. Vaccinating the Animals
Animals are vaccinated based on their type and the type of vaccination required.
4. Administrating Booster Dose
The booster dose is administered according to the type of animal and vaccination.

2. Inform the veterinarian if any clinical symptoms are observed in the animals.
3. Do not use antibiotics in a random manner or without the supervision of a veterinarian.
4. Maintain the cleanliness of animal shelters. Treat and prevent animals from internal and external parasites.
5. Avoid overcrowding animals in one barn.
6. Provide animal feed that is rich in vitamins and minerals.
If the animal owner suspects an epidemic disease or is informed of an outbreak, they should do the following:
1. Immediately isolate the sick or suspected animals from healthy ones.
2. Cooperate with relevant authorities in examining and collecting samples, as well as tagging animals for post result follow-up.
3. Do not introduce any new animals, birds, or poultry into the animal barn.
4. Follow the instructions of the concerned authorities and implement quarantine measures, restricting the movement of animals, equipment, and tools on the premises.
5. Do not transfer, slaughter, or sell products of sick or suspected animals from the infected unit unless authorized by the competent authority.

10. Do not sell products until the withdrawal period or safety period for veterinary drugs or pesticides used on treated animals has passed.
11. Ensure the health of animals and isolate sick animals or those receiving treatment until they recover.
12. Train and educate workers regularly and enforce proper health practices.
13. Conduct health checks for farm or barn workers and maintain their health records.
14. Prohibit workers from working in the farm or barn if they are suspected of being infected with a contagious disease.
