Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Announces Extension of the Bahraini Farmers' Market until March 8, 2025

His Excellency Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, announced the extension of the twelfth edition of the seasonal Bahraini Farmers' Market in Budaiya for an additional two weeks, now running until March 8, 2025.
His Excellency affirmed that the twelfth edition of the Farmers’ Market stands as a strong testament to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s unwavering commitment to support the development of the agricultural sector. The initiative reflects the strategic directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and is further reinforced by the continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. It highlights the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to strengthen food security in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Government Plan.
His Excellency commended the dedicated commitment of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the Advisory Council for the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, for her unwavering support of Bahraini farmers and the advancement of the agricultural sector. He highlighted her active involvement in the Farmers’ Market as a driving force behind its success and emphasized the importance of the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry, the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, and STC Bahrain in organizing the market on an annual basis.
Al-Mubarak stressed the ministry's commitment to organizing the market during the additional two weeks, coinciding with the blessed month of Ramadan. He praised the launch of initiatives aimed at advancing the agricultural sector and positioning it as a key contributor to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s food security strategy.
Her Excellency Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, also affirmed that the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka reflect her deep commitment to advancing the agricultural sector, supporting local farmers, and ensuring they derive the maximum benefit from the agricultural season.
She highlighted that the large turnout at the twelfth edition of the Bahraini Farmers' Market was a reflection of the significant efforts invested in organizing the market. She also pointed out that the decision to extend the market’s duration will provide farmers with the opportunity to market their products and allow the public to benefit from the offerings of the market.
