On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, inaugurated the seventh edition of the Bahrain International Agricultural Production Exhibition (Mara’ee 2024). The event, held under the patronage of His Majesty the King, took place at the Bahrain International Endurance Village in the presence of a number of high-ranking dignitaries, including members of the Royal Family, ministers, and senior officials from across the Kingdom.

His Royal Highness affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain remains committed to advancing and developing its food security strategies and projects, in line with the vision and directives of His Majesty the King. He noted that the agricultural and livestock sector represents one of the key priorities, as it serves as a fundamental pillar for strengthening national food security. His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of preserving, developing, and ensuring the sustainability of this vital sector, stating that the government continues to implement its programs and plans aimed at enhancing agricultural, livestock, and marine development. These efforts contribute to bolstering national food security and laying the foundations for a modern food industry.

His Royal Highness praised the prominent role played by national professionals within Team Bahrain in promoting innovation and the sustainable development of agricultural and livestock production. He highlighted their efforts in leveraging advanced technological solutions to enhance food productivity and in implementing strategic projects that support the Kingdom’s aspirations toward achieving food security.

His Highness also commended the great efforts made by the Royal Guard of the Bahrain Defense Force, praising its pivotal role and valuable contribution to the success of this exhibition and its presentation at a level befitting the reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also commended the efforts of the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and all relevant parties in organizing this important international event.

His Highness expressed his pride in the continuous successes achieved by the Bahrain International Agricultural Production Exhibition since its launch, pointing to the wide international participation that confirms Bahrain’s leadership in attracting specialized, qualitative exhibitions that contribute to strengthening the national economy and encouraging investments in the agricultural production sector, thus supporting efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in a number of food products.

His Highness pointed out the distinguished participation of local companies and institutions in this year’s edition of the exhibition, noting their efforts to maintain the quality of local production and develop it by benefiting from global experiences and the latest technologies applied in this vital field.

In conclusion, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, honored the first-place winners in the various categories, and presented the winners with the awards. The (Oldest Farmer) award went to Ali Abdullah Al-Qattan, while Mohammed Redha Yousef Salman received the award for the best innovative farmer, while the award for the best young farmer went to. Mohsen Mohammed Mohsen Ali. The award for the most beautiful stallion - gold category went to the stallion AMS Shaheen, owned by Abdullah Ahmed Al-Mudhahka, while the award for the most beautiful foal (2-3 years) - gold category went to the foal Mumtaz Al-Layal, owned by Mohsen Ali Abdullah Hussein. Ali Mohsen Ali Abdullah Hussein received the award on his behalf. The award for the most beautiful camels was a camel from Talayed Al-Bahrain, owned by Nawaf Hussein Ali Al-Mabrouk Al-Kaabi, the award for the most beautiful falcon - free bird, owned by Hassan Saud Hassan Ali Mufrij Al-Ajmi, and the award for the most beautiful pigeons was a Bukhari pigeon, owned by Mahmoud Abdulnabi Hassan Al-Khaja, while the award for the best production cow from the Holstein breed went to Ali Hassan Issa. His Highness also honored the sponsoring entities.

The ceremony featured a variety of artistic performances, including a patriotic musical presentation.

For his part, H.E Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, affirmed that the support and patronage of His Majesty the King, for the establishment and implementation of the seventh edition of the Bahrain International Agricultural and Livestock Production Exhibition (Mara'ee 2024), reflects His Majesty's interest in everything that would develop the agriculture and livestock sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, especially in the field of enhancing food security, pointing to the continuous support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to spread green spaces, move towards agricultural innovation and the use of modern technology, encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly practices and enhance environmental awareness in society. He also noted the continuous support of the agricultural sector by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the Advisory Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Sector Development.

He emphasized that the Ministry, in accordance with the directives of the government led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has allocated more than 470,000 square meters of government-owned agricultural land for agricultural and livestock production. These lands will be made available to Bahraini farmers and breeders for investment, with the objective of preserving the agricultural profession that has been passed down through generations.
